This product is not packaged in individual water soluble pouches and instead comes in a 50 pound drum in powder form.  It can be applied directly to the wastewater or mixed in clean water in an adequate volume to dissolve the powder.  For optimal rehydration, allow the solution to set for a minimum of 30 minutes but not longer than eight hours before application.

For large operations 11.4 kg or 25.1 pounds should be added daily per one million gallons of new waste to achieve a 3 PPM application.

Smaller operations start with this dosage:

One (1) pound per month for every:
200 sows or
625 feeder pigs

First treatment should be 3 times monthly amount and if not treated for more than three months, then restart by making the next treatment as if it were the first.

BioKix Hog Lagoon Bacillus with Ammonia Reducer contains the six (6) strains in the BioKix Dairy Lagoon product that has been supplemented with a hyper-ammonia utilization strain to specifically address the lagoon challenges in the hog industry.

The 6 bacillus strains that are in both the dairy and hog manure lagoon treatment product are needed because Dairy and Hog manure lagoons are inherently anaerobic (lack oxygen). The bacteria in raw manure needs oxygen to decompose manure waste and whatever degradation occurs will occur under septic conditions which convert hydrogen and sulfur to form hydrogen sulfide and transform carbon into methane. The right strains of bacillus do not need oxygen to decompose waste quickly and they feast on organics like sulfur and carbon.

The BioKix Hog Lagoon Bacillus with Ammonia Reducer attacks the ingredients that produce ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, and other gasses while also attacking the ingredients that create sludge.

Waste will only partially decompose on its own. What does not decompose either floats and forms a solid crust or sinks to the bottom and stops decomposing. Partially decomposed waste will also stick to the sides of lagoons. Deep accumulations of sludge on the lagoon floors and sides require frequent removal by tractors or the lagoon will become too small to hold the amount of waste coming in. Those removed solids have to be stored elsewhere. Bio-augmented lagoons can be fully pumped out and the liquid content used to irrigate and fertilize crops.
